Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Optional: Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the basil leaves.
  • In a food processor or blender combine all the ingredients. Process until the mixture is well combined and pesto reaches your desired consistency. You may need to stop the processor and scrape down the sides a few times to ensure everything is well mixed.
  • Season the pesto with salt and black pepper to taste if desire.
  • Transfer the pesto to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can also freeze it for up to 6 months.
  • Once you have made your fresh pesto, toss it with cooked pasta for a simple and delicious meal.
